I suppose I should start this blog by introducing myself. My name is Morgan and I have worked at the library for over a year now. I am mostly interested in reading science fiction/fantasy books as well as graphic novels.
I have never had a blog before so this is a new experience for me. The set up of a new e-mail account and blog was very straight forward and it will be interesting to see what I will be discussing with all you fine people in the coming weeks.
Great to meet you! I hope you will be sharing some of your favourite sci-fi/fantasy and graphic novel reads.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy SF/F and graphic novels, too! Have you heard of and/or given "Nowhere Men" a try? It's originally published as episodic comics, but the first four comics were recently released in a perfect-bound volume, so it almost counts as a graphic novel, right? It was a very dense read, but I enjoyed the story line a lot.
ReplyDeleteAnd I will admit to owning a "Science is the new Rock 'n' Roll" T-shirt *grin*
I must remember to take my copy down to the library so that it can be added to the collection.
I've never heard of "Nowhere Men" but I shall certainly look into it. Maybe it can be my suggestion for the graphic novel book club I am in. Thanks for the recommendation!
DeleteSince people seem to be interested in what books I enjoy, I thought I would make a short list:
ReplyDelete-The Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marilier
-The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss
-The Books of Pellinor by Alison Croggon (young adult)
-The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny
-Fables by Bill Willingham (graphic novel series)
-Sandman by Neil Gaiman (graphic novel series)
Thankfully, most of these books are available through the library. The only books that are not available are the last three books in the Sevenwaters series. Luckily, the original Sevenwaters trilogy is available and the last three books are not required to get full enjoyment out of the series.
I hope my list inspires someone to read one of these series.
